FAMILY LINEAGE & ARCHIVES

Calabash Alley Masqueraders

Calabash Alley Masqueraders represents the multi-generational heart of my studio practice. Founded as a family-led carnival band, Calabash Alley served as my primary incubator—a living laboratory where I learned the foundational mechanics of wire-bending, structural balance, and textile construction directly alongside my family.

The archival photography below documents years of design presentations, public activations, and community masquerades. Long before formal studio training, these street presentations established my understanding of sculpture as a living, kinetic monument powered by body, spirit, and collective heritage.
